International maritime dangerous goods CODE (IMDG CODE) is promulgated by the international maritime organization (IMO), designed to protect the crew and through to ensure security of dangerous goods by sea shipping to reduce the pollution of the sea. Individual member states can also draw on the relevant chapters of IMDG and make changes to relevant provisions in domestic circumstances.

The rules require all Marine life safety conventions (SOLAS) and the international convention on preventing ships from causing pollution (MARPOL 73/78) to enforce IMDG regulations. The rules are not limited to sailors, and all industry and shipping service personnel involved in shipping may use part of the regulations. Regulations are made up of professional terms, packaging, labels, disclosure CARDS, tags, stowage, isolation, processing and emergency response. The international maritime organization changes IMDG CODE every two years.

As people life level of modernization and the progress of science and technology unceasing enhancement, the social demand for dangerous goods had significantly increased at the same time also directly led to dangerous goods enterprises must develop more kinds of dangerous goods to meet these needs. Is based on this, in the international maritime dangerous goods regulations stipulates that all personnel engaged in operation on the shore of dangerous goods must attend training according to the requirements of the relevant laws and regulations, such as: dangerous goods manufacturers, packaging, warehousing, ship owners, cargo agent, the carrier, the shipping company vessel inspection and management personnel, dangerous goods, dangerous goods packaging manufacturing and inspection unit ground operators and port operation and management personnel, etc. Regulations and training content generally include: the use of the correct classification of dangerous goods, dangerous goods list, packaging, packaging performance testing, material identification, logo and label, danger signs posted, documents preparation, loading and isolation of the standard. The employee must hold the certificate and accept the training according to the update interval.
